"I had a cleaning here and it was a very pleasant experience! I don't enjoy going to the dentist and avoid it for as long as I can, so my teeth weren't in the best shape. The hygienist was extremely thoughtful throughout the cleaning to ensure I wasn't experiencing any pain, and walked me through what she was seeing and how I could improve my oral health. Dr. Shmuely was very helpful as he described the next steps of what services I would require and why. I often feel dentists try to upcharge/oversell services, but I didn't experience that here. Will be returning soon and am no longer scared!"

"The choices to find great dentists in NYC is not as easy as it appear. With teams of people multi work stations rooms hi tech etc. it’s modern dentistry at its best. Now in present time the Madison group starring Dr Kaufman made getting into the swing of things very for me and my workload. Itis a well run friendly empathetic group of professionals helping people. The major factor is for more difficult cases is to try to forecast workload timelines and cost. For me with more sensitive gum issues I didn’t commit to extracting all the 8 teeth 🦷 all at once. Today I’ll feeling post op discomfort with the sharp edge of a tooth in the front scraping my cheek. That I should have sanded down a bit. Fortunately I will in December get the upper bridge completed hopefully within budget and fast! Overall it’s a little early to write a review. But I’m thankful this SHOP is walking distance for me. See you soon Bruce R"

"Dr. Shmuely has become like family to my family! We are very appreciative of the "wholistic" dental care approach of Dr. Shmuely and his office: Iggly their dental assistant; dental hygienist Daniella & all their colleagues: Specifically Talia \ Tamar & other front office colleagues who know how to deal with insurance claims which to me is another language; however they work with you and explain everything. This wholistic approach has restored my dental health beyond a shadow of doubt! Their dental practice by being disciplined and sticking to a solid dental health plan has helped transform my dental health care to: 1) One in which my gums are much healthier 2) My older crowns are slowly but surely being replaced mitigating infection from decay buildup 3) All procedures are fully explained which to me is important 4) Lastly having quarterly dental hygienist cleanings. In additional to this very professional dental experience their practice also focuses on the what I call humanistic approach: I commented to Dr. Shmuely: 1) That it is such a nice touch for his dental practice to send out a congratulations happy birthday recognition. It exemplifies the extra patient relationship they build with their patients. This also translates into excellent dental care by sticking to the basics of doing the right thing! 2) In addition the office takes every COVID 19 precaution possible. 3) I feel it is also a great testimonial that Dr. Shmuely is a part time professor at NYU dental school. One of the premiere dental schools in our nation. This tells me he remains on the cutting edge state of the art dental practices \ procedures and technologies. "Wonderful office and atmosphere and I cannot stress how knowledgable and professional Dr. Kaufman and Dr. Shmuely are. The doctors and staff have moved mountains in making sure my treatment plan goes smoothly and successfully and I appreciate them for being very transparent about the entire procedure. I would also like to mention how diligent admin has been in ensuring proper logistics for my case and I can't thank them enough for that. That being said, I am a firm believer that personal opinions about my character should be left to those who know me well and not based on brief interactions. I was slightly taken aback when I received unsolicited criticism from one admin member about my attitude towards the person accompanying me to my appointment (who I personally knew). I will gladly accept any comments about my attitude had it negatively affected other patients or the overall function of the practice but this feedback seemed to come from a personal standpoint. While I appreciate the concern, I would prefer it if the counseling came from a counselor's office as opposed to a dentist's. Besides that, 5 star business!"

Dental hygienist Daniella has a gentle touch and accommodates my dislike of the Kelvitron by doing a manual cleaning.Dr. Kaufman did a great job on flap surgery, removing infection and doing extensive bone grafts, so that my implant could be saved. I appreciate the consideration in his having Mozart playing already when I walked into the room for surgery (I used to bring my own to calm me), and the follow up call. The aftermath was mostly painless, and I'm able to eat normally."

The first people you see are the receptionists; they kindly take your temperature and handle some paperwork with a smile. Making appointments are easy and the receptionists will even help with dental insurance companies. Dr. Shmuley is one of the most TALENTED and HONEST dentists I have ever been to, and is equally kind and attentive. His knowledge base is vast and clearly he is always upping his game. He has 3D printers in his office so teeth can be created, on the spot, and I have never had to walk out of his office embarrassed about my appearance. Additionally, he really knows how to bring you through procedures in comfort, physically and emotionally ( I was truly terrified to go to dentists before I met him.) The icing on the cake are the other people that work in his office. Dr. Kaufman is the oral surgeon on staff. He too is very knowledgeable and progressive. And Igly, who assists Dr. Shmuley, has helped me a million times. Without reservation, I recommend this group. They truly know their stuff and have helped me enormously."

I put off a dental cleaning because of Covid for a few months. I was worried about going in to get the cleaning I needed. I’ve been to 286 before and knew they were professional. But even so, I was impressed with the level of care they have taken to protect staff and customers. Barriers and masks for the administration staff. Masks properly worn over nose mouth and chin. Clinical staff are wearing N95 masks plus surgical masks plus face shields plus full head to toe PPE. Good screening before the appointment even started. 286 was already one of the best dental offices I’ve ever been to. But now I’ve got to call them THE best. Kudos to the entire staff."

He wants to know what your concerns may be. He is one of the most talented and artistic cosmetic dentists that I have ever met. If you are concerned about some perceived flaw in your mouth, do yourself a true favor and schedule an appointment with Dr. Kimon. I suffer from Sjogren’s Disease. This is one of the many AutoImmune Disorders. In Sjogren’s, the salivary glands are attack and ultimately are rendered useless. They no longer provide saliva of any kind for the mouth. This causes tremendous discomfort and damage to my teeth. Dr. Kimon has been pivotal in helping me keep my mouth as healthy as possible. His hygienist, Nishu Singh is extraordinary. She has been my eyes as far as deterioration is concerned. I would not know what to do without this exceptional team. One of the most extraordinary things about this office is that everything can be done there and done quickly. They have a 3-D printer that literally makes a new tooth for you in less than 20 minutes if you need a crown. It is amazing to watch the process. This office is cutting edge in every way. I remember when you had to take impressions and send off those impressions to get a crown made. No more! Things move very quickly and are far more attractive. Dr. Kaufman was steady with 4.5 to 5 stars. I then searched via My insurance provider to narrow my choices. I narrowed my search to three Doctors. I individually dissected each one based on *credentials* , reviews, availability before/ after the regular 9 am-5 pm schedules, etc. I wanted to start my treatment as soon as possible so I began to call my top three finalist. The young gentlemen that answered the phone was beyond pleasant with patience and was really looking into the schedule to accommodation me for a consultation. I was excited just because of how well he took my call. I think his name is Christian. On Sept 1, I received a call stating if I can arrive at least 15 minutes before my 5:30 pm appointment for Sept 2. No problem, I can do that. Then I received multiple calls about coming in earlier, at 5:00 pm. It was pushing it, but will try. Then another call came in if I can come at 4:30 pm. That one was difficult. At this point I was thinking, I work and prefer the earliest before 9 am, during my lunch or latest after 5 pm appointment available. Did staff assume I do nothing during the day. Nevertheless, I arrived just a couple of minutes before 5 pm on Sept 2, 2020. Front desk didn't acknowledge my presence because they were busy talking. For a moment I did not feel welcomed. I was thinking and asked myself, should I get the consultation (since I am here) and call the other providers for treatment or just leave. Moments upon check in, a technician came to escort me for X-Rays. The Female staff was very dry and sour in her tone. I didn't expect bubbly but I wanted some type of, "I like my job" attitude. She took me to consult with Dr. Kaufman where he confirmed what my Dentist had stated based on the X-Rays I already provided. Nothing was set on stone, just possibilities of my treatment. No gimmicks. I felt that I made a good choice with him. He was noted to be one of the best so I went for it. Upon conclusion, one of the receptionist was providing a two weeks later appointment. I thought, this wasn't going to work out for me. I almost was going to take the appointment just to cancel it after getting an appointment with one of the other providers. Dr. Kaufman immediately intervene (as if reading my thoughts) and took a look at the schedule with her and was able to provide a date and time within a week. This was great. I wasn't sure if I was going to get the same treatment as I did in NE but after visiting I actually like this dentist MORE than the one back home - ha! During my first appointment the staff was SO welcoming and made me feel very comfortable while waiting. Dr. Shmuely also was very welcoming and approachable. He got to know me and my boyfriend who was there with me and genuinely seemed interested in connecting with the two of us - not just examining my teeth. It turns out that I needed two fillings completely replaced, one of them with a 3D porcelain replica with technology specific to this dental office. (!!!) Going in the second time for the procedure I was very nervous but Dr. Shmuely and his team quickly helped me calm down and feel comfortable about the process. They walked me through what was going to happen at each step, constantly asked me how I was doing & if I felt any pain, and encouraged me that I was doing a good job. There were some challenges during the procedure - one of the fillings was VERY deep - but Dr. Shmuely didn't stop until everything was absolutely PERFECT in my mouth. He worked very efficiently, taught me about the technology he was using, and even let me watch my filling be 3D printed! A few days later, he completed the procedure in about 1½ hours, using 3D imaging and an advanced 3D "printer" to make the crown right then and there, with a high degree of accuracy. Fit was perfect.
